Although Anke Fleischer's art often starts with simple, everyday scenes
and portraits, she turns them into works of fantasy through her dreamlike
and unique treatment. Her figures have the fluidity of fashion sketches
or Picasso's line drawings; the atmosphere she invents is tranquil, yet
vivid. Her art makes us question what what we think is clear... and in doing
so, she makes us want to create our own secrets.
Although Fleischer produces oil and acrylic paintings, her preferred medium
is color etchings. For over 10 years, her art has been displayed in numerous
fine galleries throughout Germany and is now available in the United States
through German Art Company.
